Bu hafta

Theme 2: Classroom Life ünitemizin ilk bölümünde sınıf eşyalarını, yer edatlarını ve There is / There are kalıplarını öğrenmiştik. Şimdi okul hayatımızın kalbi olan haftalık ders programımızı (weekly timetable), sevdiğimiz dersleri (school subjects), saatleri ve her gün tekrarladığımız çalışma alışkanlıklarımızı anlatma zamanı! Bu haftaki dersimizde zaman edatlarını (in / on / at), sıklık zarflarını (adverbs of frequency) ve İngilizcenin en temel zamanı olan Present Simple Tense (Geniş Zaman) kurallarını kapsamlı örneklerle öğreneceğiz.

1. School Subjects, Telling the Time and Prepositions of Time (IN / ON / AT)

Lise hayatında haftalık ders programımızı (timetable / schedule) anlatırken öncelikle ders adlarını (school subjects) doğru kullanmalıyız: Mathematics (Maths), Physics (Fizik), Chemistry (Kimya), Biology (Biyoloji), Turkish Language and Literature (Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı), History (Tarih), Geography (Coğrafya), Foreign Language / English (Yabancı Dil), Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge (Din Kültürü), Physical Education - PE (Beden Eğitimi), Visual Arts (Görsel Sanatlar), Music ve Information Technology - IT (Bilişim). Bir derse olan ilgimizi anlatırken sıfat + edat kalıplarından yararlanırız: be good at (...-da iyi olmak), be bad at (...-da kötü olmak), be interested in (...-ya ilgi duymak), be keen on / fond of (...-ya düşkün olmak). Bu edatlardan (at, in, on, of) sonra bir fiil gelirse fiile mutlaka -ing eklenir: “I am good at solving physics problems.”

Ders saatlerini (What time is the lesson?) söylerken tam saatlerde o’clock (09:00 = nine o’clock), buçuklarda half past (09:30 = half past nine), çeyrek geçelerde quarter past (09:15 = quarter past nine) ve çeyrek kalalarda quarter to (09:45 = quarter to ten) ifadeleri kullanılır. Zaman edatları (in / on / at) ise üç net kurala ayrılır: 1) AT: Tam saatlerde (at 8:15, at half past two) ve at noon, at night, at midnight, at the weekend kalıplarında kullanılır. 2) ON: Haftanın günlerinde (on Monday, on Wednesdays), belirli bir günün bölümünde (on Tuesday morning) ve tam tarihlerde (on 29th October) kullanılır. 3) IN: Günün ana bölümlerinde (in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening), aylarda (in September), mevsimlerde (in autumn) ve yıllarda (in 2026) kullanılır.

THEME 2: CLASSROOM LIFE — SCHOOL SUBJECTS, TIMETABLES & PRESENT SIMPLE1. SCHOOL SUBJECTS & TIME EXPRESSIONSCore School Subjects (Temel Dersler)Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Literature, PE.Telling the Time (Saatleri Söyleme)08:30 -> half past eight | 09:15 -> quarter past nine | 09:45 -> quarter to ten.Prepositions of Time: IN / ON / ATAT + clock time (at 8:30, at noon) | ON + days (on Monday) | IN + parts of day.Asking About Timetables (Ders Programı)“When do you have Chemistry?” -> “We have Chemistry on Tuesday at 10:00.”Expressing Likes & Preferences“My favourite subject is Biology.” | “I am good at Maths / interested in Art.”2. PRESENT SIMPLE & ADVERBS OF FREQUENCYAffirmative (+): I/You/We/They V₁ | He/She/It V-s“I study every day.” | “She studies Physics on Mondays.” (-s / -es / -ies)Negative (-): don’t + V₁ / doesn’t + V₁“We don’t have school on Sunday.” | “He doesn’t like waking up early.”Questions (?): Do I/you/we/they...? / Does he/she/it...?“Does Ece go to the lab on Friday?” -> “Yes, she does. / No, she doesn’t.”Adverbs of Frequency (Sıklık Zarfları)always (100%) > usually > often > sometimes > rarely/seldom > never (0%).Word Order with Frequency AdverbsBefore main verb (“I always do homework”), AFTER am/is/are (“He is never late”)!GOLDEN RULE: After DOESN’T and DOES, always use the base form V₁ (drops -s!): “She doesn’t study” (NOT doesn’t studies)! How often do you have PE? -> Twice a week (haftada iki kez) / On Mondays and Thursdays.

2. Present Simple Tense (Geniş Zaman) and Adverbs of Frequency

Günlük okul rutinlerimizi, alışkanlıklarımızı ve haftalık ders programımızı anlatırken Present Simple Tense (Geniş Zaman) kullanırız. Olumlu (+) Cümlelerde: I, You, We, They öznelerinden sonra fiil yalın hâlde (V₁) kullanılır (“We have six lessons a day.”). He, She, It (3. tekil şahıs) öznelerinden sonra ise fiile -s, -es veya -ies takısı eklenir: Çoğu fiil -s alır (read → reads); sonu {koyu}-ch, -sh, -ss, -x, -o{koyu} ile bitenler -es alır (go → goes, watch → watches, finish → finishes); sonu ünsüz + y ile bitenlerde y düşer ve -ies gelir (study → studies), ünlü + y ile bitenler sadece -s alır (play → plays). Ayrıca have fiili 3. tekil şahısta has olur (“Arda has Biology on Thursday.”).

Olumsuz (-) ve Soru (?) Cümlelerinde: I, You, We, They ile yardımcı fiil do / don’t; He, She, It ile yardımcı fiil does / doesn’t kullanılır. En önemli altın kural şudur: Cümleye does veya doesn’t girdiğinde asıl fiildeki -s takısı düşer ve fiil yalın (V₁) hâle döner! (“She doesn’t study late.” / “What time does the first lesson start?”). Eylemlerin ne sıklıkla yapıldığını belirten sıklık zarfları (always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely/seldom, never) cümlede asıl fiilden hemen önce (“I usually go to school by bus.”), fakat am / is / are (to be) fiilinden hemen sonra (“Zeynep is always punctual.”) kullanılır. “never” anlamca olumsuz olduğu için yapıca olumlu cümlelerle kullanılır (“He never forgets his homework.”).
